Memorial services for Robert P. Hinton, 49, of Byron, Minnesota will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at the Community Baptist Church in Truman, Minnesota with the Rev. Tom Butler officiating. Mr. Hinton died Thursday, January 29, 2004, in an auto accident near Dodge Center, Minnesota. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Olson-Zaharia Funeral Home of Truman assisted the family with arrangements.
Robert Perry Hinton was born March 22, 1954, in Fairmont, Minnesota. He lived in various parts of the country while growing up and graduated from Eastside High School in Greenville, South Carolina in 1973. He attended Mankato State University. Bob married Jean Jensen on August 23, 1975. They later divorced and on June 23, 1990, he married Melanie Roth. They moved to Byron in 1997, where he was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed football, working with computers and talking with people. He loved his friends and family deeply.
Survivors include his wife, Melanie Hinton of Byron, Minnesota: children from his previous marriage; daughter, Leslie Hinton of Stafford, Virginia and son, James Hinton of Byron, Minnesota; his mother and stepfather, Bonnie and Wally Zoellmer of Lewisville, Minnesota and his father and stepmother, Dennis and Charlene Hinton of Clearwater, Florida; sister, Cheryl Kremer of Benicia, California; brother, Louis Hinton of Clearwater, Florida; and two nephews.
