Ruth Kathleen Tonne

Funeral services for Ruth K. Tonne, 82, Fairmont, MN will be held on Wednesday, February 4th, 2004 at 10:30 am at St. John's-United Church of Christ, Fairmont, MN with Pastor Richard Abel officiating. Mrs. Tonne died Sunday, February, 1st, 2004 at the Lutz Wing of the Fairmont Medical Center-Mayo Health Systems, Fairmont, MN. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2004 at Olson-Zaharia Funeral Home, Fairmont, from 4 to 7:00 pm, and one hour before the services at the church. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont. Ruth Kathleen Abel was born on May 20th, 1921 in Rutland Township, Martin County, MN to Henry and Florence Short Abel. Ruth attended Country School District #80 and graduated from Granada High School. Ruth married Floyd Tonne on November 21st, 1964 at St. John's-United Church of Christ, Fairmont, MN. She worked for 29 years for Koenig's Variety Store and the Woolworth's Company, both in Fairmont. Ruth was a member of St. John's-United Church of Christ, VIM member of the Schwieger-Kahler American Legion Auxiliary Unit 522 in Northrop and member of the Martin County V.F.W. Auxiliary Unit 1222. She enjoyed raising flowers, puzzles and playing cards. Ruth is survived by her husband, Floyd Tonne, Fairmont, MN; one sister, Lucille Ricard, Fairmont, MN; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald and one sister Fern Steele.
