Edna G. (McConnaughey) Sparks

Funeral services for Edna G. (McConnaughey) Sparks, 90 of Beloit, Wisconsin will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2004 at the Olson-Zaharia Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont. Rev. David Taylor of the United Methodist Church in Fairmont will officiate. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Mrs. Sparks died Monday, February 2, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Home in Janesville, Wisconsin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Olson-Zaharia Funeral Home in Fairmont. Edna G. Speicher was born June 8, 1913 in Grant Township, Iowa, the daughter of Louis J. and Mamie (Jennings) Speicher. She moved to Fairmont, Minnesota as a child and lived in Fairmont most of her adult life. She was an accomplished seamstress and had her own tailoring shop for many years. Edna married Robert McConnaughey July 29, 1934, and married Arthur Sparks in December of 1976. Her family, whom she loved dearly, will sadly miss Edna. She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Grathwohl and her husband, Jim of Beloit, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert McConnaughey and Arthur Sparks; and a daughter, Barbara Sisson. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Home in Janesville, Wisconsin.
