Lois K. (Malherek) Larsen
Lois Kathryn (Malherek) Larsen passed quietly in her sleep on Saturday, June 18 in Mesa, Arizona. Lois was born March 6, 1921 in Truman, MN, the daughter of Frank and Lura (Tomlinson) Malherek. She grew up in Truman and was a 1939 graduate of the Truman High School. She was united in marriage to Rollo E. Larsen in San Diego, CA on May 30, 1942. After Rollo returned from the war, they lived in Truman before moving to Grand Rapids, MN in 1953. Lois worked for Atty. Hub Cave in Truman, and Russell Virden, CPA in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She and her husband retired to Mesa, AZ in 1986. Lois was active as an organist in both the Baptist Church in Truman, and the Community Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids. Most recently, Lois played the piano and directed the music at the fellowship hall at Twin Knolls Mobile Villa in Mesa. She was a member of the Church of the Master in Mesa. A neighbor described her as "a lovely, friendly, energetic lady who most certainly will be playing the piano in heaven?.
Survivors include her husband, Rollo, of Mesa, four daughters, Pam Anderson of Duluth, MN; Becky (Jim) Hernesman of Grand Rapids, MN; Barbara (Karl) Lindgren of Duluth, MN; Katie (Lee) Thies of Grand Rapids; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren; and a brother, Don (Joyce) Malherek, Fairmont, MN.
