Alice Katharina Caroline Riggle was born July 10, 1905, in Jordan Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota to William and Lisette (Erdman) Schneider. She was baptized on July 23, 1905 and confirmed on April 13, 1919 at Wykoff, Minnesota. At seven years of age, she moved with her family to a farm in Fillmore County, near Wykoff, where she attended parochial school. On August 24, 1930, she married Dale Elmer Riggle at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wykoff. They operated chicken hatcheries in Worthington, Albert and Fairmont, Minnesota. In 1936, they bought their own hatchery in Truman, Minnesota. Dale died November 17, 1979. Alice was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman, served in Ladies Aid, was a member of Quilting Circle, Bible Study and taught Sunday school.
Alice is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Virgil and Donna Riggle of Winona, Minnesota; a daughter, Audrey Howe of St. James, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a brother, Walter Schneider of Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Marvin; one son-in-law; four brothers and four sisters.
