Agnes Leola Kopischke was born on July 9th, 1917 in Pleasant Mound Township to Herman and Alma (Block) Kopischke. Agnes was baptized on July 22nd, 1917 and confirmed on March 29th, 1931 both at St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. She grew up in the Willow Creek area and attended parochial school at St. John's Lutheran Church School. On October 6th, 1940, Agnes married William Mitzner at St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. They farmed near Willow Creek. William died June 27th, 1948. After William's death, Agnes moved back with her parents. She kept the farmland and did house cleaning. In 1979 Agnes and her mother moved to Amboy. In November of 2005, she moved into the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman. Agnes was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek, a member of the Dorcas Guild LWML, and a Key Lady for the Lutheran Retirement Home Auxiliary.
Agnes is survived by one brother-in-law, Dwight Howell, Truman; one niece, Alice (Klaus) Meier, rural Amboy, MN; three nephews, Dennis and Douglas Howell, rural Vernon Center, MN, Emil Klaus, New Ulm, MN and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Dorothy Howell and an infant brother.
