Dwight Dean Howell was born on March 18, 1928 in Rutland Township, rural Northrop, MN to E.H. and Meta (Jorgensen) Howell. His family moved to the current farm in Westford Township when Dwight was one year old. He attended the country school that was located on the farm. Dwight lived and farmed on that same farm his entire life. On October 12, 1953, Dwight married Dorothy Kopischke at St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. Dorothy died in February of 1968. In October of 1976, Dwight married Marion Glienke at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville. Dwight retired from farming in 1991. Marion died in January of 1996. Dwight remained on the family farm until October, 2006, when he entered the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lewisville. Dwight enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and golfing.
Dwight is survived by two sons, Dennis Howell and Douglas Howell, both of rural Vernon Center, MN; one step daughter, Janice (Arnie) Krenz of Lake Crystal; one step son-in-law Paul Arduser; one sister-in-law, Eileen Howell of Truman; four step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one step daughter, Janette Arduser and one brother Donald.
