Raymond Luverne Miller was born on July 19, 1923 in Worthington, MN to Dora A. Miller. He attended country school near Worthington and graduated from Worthington High School in 1941. On July 23, 1944 Raymond married Lorraine L. Alm at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church (now UCC) in Ceylon. From 1943-1948 he was employed by Montgomery Ward in Fairmont. From 1948-1958 he worked sales for St. Clair-Cizinski Mens and Boys Wear. From 1958-1980 he was managing partner for the then re-named St. Clair's which closed in November of 1980. He worked for Cal's Carpet and from 1983-1985 managed Denny's on the Mall. Raymond later worked for Fairmont Monument Company. He was a member of St. John's-United Church of Christ in Fairmont where he was a past treasurer, council member and Elder Emeritus. Raymond enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, golfing, took pride in his yard and loved to spend time with his grandsons and daughter and son-in-law. Mr. Miller died on Friday morning, November 2nd, 2007 at the Parker Oaks Care Center, Winnebago, MN.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine L. Miller, Fairmont, MN; daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Kevin Cole, Fairmont; two grandsons, Matthew and Brian Cole, Fairmont; special nephew, Steven Godden, Chisholm, MN and numerous other relatives. Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Dora A. Krueger; a much loved uncle Hero Miller who raised him; nephew, Russell Miller and numerous other relatives.
