Esther Dorothy Lasley

Esther Dorothy Sieburg was born on May 29, 1915 in Fairmont, MN to George and Esther Frances (Flo) Sieburg. She attended and graduated from Fairmont High School. Esther was united in marriage to James William Lasley on January 17, 1937 in Fairmont, MN. They lived in Alpha, MN and Mankato, MN until moving to Fairmont in 1941. In July of 2007 she moved to Redwood Falls where she was a resident of Wood Dale Nursing Home. Esther worked with the school lunch program in Fairmont for seventeen years, retiring in 1979. Esther was a member of First Congregational-United Church of Christ in Fairmont where she was involved in Ladies Circle and sent cards to the shut ins. She was also a 60 year charter member of the Mothers Club and was a member of Eastern Star. Esther loved gardening, was an avid reader, liked to play cards and loved watching the Twins and Vikings. Esther enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Lasley died on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls, MN. Esther is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Ann Lasley of Redwood Falls, MN; two grandsons, Scott Lasley and his wife Heather of Bowling Green, KY, Paul Lasley and his wife Tricia of Alexandria, SD and three great grandchildren, Hayden and Annee, Bowling Green, KY and Craig, Alexandria, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; one daughter, Mary Lou Lasley and one sister, Helen Crawford.
