Interment will take place at . Carrol Kermit Teske was born on July 13, 1920 in Truman, MN to Gustav and Anna (Zinke) Teske. Carrol attended school in Truman and graduated in 1940. He worked for Vandrey's Grocery Store after high school. Carrol was drafted into the US Army in 1942 and served in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1945. Carrol returned to Truman to work for Vandrey's and later purchased the business. On January 18, 1953 Carrol was united in marriage to Yvonne Birdsall in the Truman Church of Christ parsonage. After marriage, they moved the store from the Vandrey building to the Truman Creamery. Carrol and Yvonne operated the store until retiring in the early 1990's. Carrol was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Oles-Reader-Bosshart American Legion Post 561, both in Truman. Carrol loved music and played the saxophone with his children while they were growing up. He enjoyed gardening, camping and spending time with his family. Carrol died on Monday, January 11, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Carrol is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne Teske, Rochster, MN; one daughter, Yolanda Kay Teske, Rochester, MN; one son, Richard Carrol Teske and his wife Connie, Athens, OH; three grandchildren, Abigail Teske, Anna Teske, Isaac Teske; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Esther and Violet; four brothers, Arnold, Clarence "Tiny?, Edgar and Reuben.
