Hertha Caroline Becker

Hertha Caroline Kaiser was born on December 2, 1922 on the family farm in Antrim Township, Watonwan County, MN to Herman L. and Ida (Ziegenhagen) Kaiser. She was baptized at home by Rev. Wrede on December 23, 1922. In 1929, she moved across the road into Martin County with her parents. She was confirmed May 10, 1936 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman by Rev. H. Hienaman. Hertha attended school at Truman Public School for four years and attended St. Paul's Lutheran School in Truman, graduating in 1936. She roomed with her grandmother during her school years. On March 11, 1945 Hertha was united in marriage to Waldemar Becker at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Parsonage. They lived on the family farm in Martin County until she moved into the Lutheran Manor in 2004. Waldemar died on February 2, 1992. Hertha was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Antrim Township before joining St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. They loved to travel and took trips to Germany and Hawaii. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hertha always had a garden and loved to play cards. Mrs. Becker died on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Fairmont Medical Center, Fairmont, MN. Hertha is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Wendy Becker, Truman; two granddaughters, Dana Lensert and her husband Kurt of Burnsville, MN, Sara Sokoloski and her husband Greg, Northrop, MN; four great grandchildren, Ashly Diekmann, Dallas Kosbab, Emily Sokoloski, Madison Sokoloski and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Waldemar. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran School in Truman.
