Joanne Mae Moeller was born on September 27, 1938 in Fraser Township, Martin County, MN to Alfred Henry and Mary Margaret (Roehler) Moeller. Joanne was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in 1938 and confirmed on June 1, 1952. She attended parochial school at Zion Lutheran Church, Fraser Township. Joanne graduated from Fairmont High School in May of 1956. On March 10, 1957 Joanne was united in marriage to Henry Arnold Weihe at Zion Lutheran Church, Fraser Township. She worked for a photographer at the Guckeen Studio. Joanne was a stay at home Mom until 1983. Joanne was a nurse's assistant and worked with home health care through the Fairmont Hospital. She retired in 2008. Joanne was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman and the ladies aide, altar guild, planning committee and choir. Joanne enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and volunteering for the church. She loved time spent with her family. Joanne died on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 53 years, Henry Weihe, Truman; one daughter, Julie (Jim) Fischer, Wiota, IA; three sons, Tony (Mona) Weihe, Tim (Karen) Weihe, Tory (Jill) Weihe, all of Truman; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Elaine Schwieger, Fairmont, Janet Ehn, Faribault, MN, Ruth (Perlon) Engelby, Fairmont, Carol Peterson, Glendale, AZ; one brother, Roland Moeller, Fairmont; numerous nieces and nephews. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; two miscarriages and three brothers, Donald, Gordon and Kenneth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Martin Luther High School or Fairmont Medical Center-Home Health Care.
