Berniece Marie Oberdieck

Berniece Marie Bremer was born in Tennhassen Township, rural Martin County, MN on August 18, 1931 to August and Esther (Thiesse) Bremer. She was baptized on August 23, 1931 and confirmed on March 25, 1940. Berniece attended parochial school at St. Paul's Lutheran School, Wilbert, MN. After her education, Berniece helped farm families and watched children. On October 26, 1951, Berniece was united in marriage to Wilbert Oberdieck at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wilbert, MN. After marriage, they farmed in Watonwan County. Their farm became a century farm in 1979. Berniece enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, baking, music and especially spending time with her family. Berniece was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Antrim and the Ladies Aid. She helped with quilting, LWML and serving funeral meals at the church. Berniece died on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Truman Senior Living. Berniece is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wilbert, rural Truman, MN; one daughter Amy (Jay) Gustafson of Faribault, MN; three sons, Keith (Patricia) Oberdieck of Riverbank, CA, Joel (Cheryl) Oberdieck of rural Truman, Brent (Jennifer) Oberdieck of rural Fairmont, MN; 7 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Paul (Eunice) Bremer of Arlington, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Carl and Leonard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to the Martin Luther High School Music Department.
