Charlotte Larkin was born March 7, 1921, at Madelia, Minn., the daughter of Floyd and Rose (Osborne) Larkin. She grew up on the family farm in Fieldon Township and attended rural school, Dolorosa Catholic School and then graduated from Madelia High School in 1938. She received her teaching certificate from Mankato Teacher's College and, over a span of 40 years, taught in Martin County rural schools, Lewisville, Hutchinson, Huntley and Fairmont. Charlotte earned her Bachelor of Arts from Mankato State in 1979.
On Nov. 14, 1945, she married Mark Teaser at Madelia. The lived on the family farm in Westford Township until December 1985, when they moved to Truman. They moved to Fairmont in 2005 and her last three years were spent at Lakeview Methodist Home where she died.
Charlotte served as a Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader and held various positions in her church. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, M.E.A. and was first President of St. Katherine's Rosary Society. Charlotte enjoyed her family, reading, playing bridge, and just being around people. Charlotte died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Lakeview Methodist Home in Fairmont.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mark, of Fairmont; her sons: Kieran of Chandler, Ariz., and Steven (Diane) of Minneapolis; her two grandsons: Scott (Jen) and Robert (Angie), both of Alexandria, Minn.; her three grand-daughters: Teresa Teaser, of Nevada, Iowa, Becky Teaser, of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Stephanie Riesland of Minneapolis; four great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, two sisters: Loretta Gliniany, of Minneapolis and Betty (Bill) Engelking of Chandler, Ariz.; and her brother, Doyle Larkin of Columbia Heights, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Lyle and William; and her sister, Marcy Eager.
