Florence Hilda Hartmann was born on July 2, 1914 in Rutland Township, Martin County, MN to Friedrich and Bertha (Fiedler) Hartmann. Florence went to school at East Rutland Township, and Truman Public School. December 26th, 1938 Florence was united in marriage to George Manzke at St. James Lutheran Church, Northrop. They farmed south of Fairmont for many years. Florence also waitressed in Fairmont for a short time. She lived most of her life in and around Northrop area and moved to Blue Earth in 1981, then to St. Lukes Home in 1993. Florence was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairmont. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, baking and horses. Florence died on December 20th, 2011 at St. Luke's Home in Blue Earth, MN.
Florence is survived by one sister, Lois Wiederhoft of Fairmont, MN; one sister in-law, Adeline Hartmann of Fairmont, MN; one grandson, Robert Claude and wife Beth of Colorado Springs, CO; one granddaughter, Christina Howard and husband Alan of Butte, MT; four great grandchildren, Amanda and Jacob, Alexandra and Andrew. Florence was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter and son in-law, Norita and Larry.
