Selma Lydia Kopischke, was born Sept. 29, 1910, in Vernon Center Township, Blue Earth County, MN, the daughter of Henry and Sophie (Urban) Kopischke. She was baptized October 2, 1910, and confirmed April 13, 1924, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Willow Creek in rural Vernon Center. She began her education at St. John's Lutheran School and finished in Public School. She married Elmer Greiner on May 3, 1936. He preceded her in death in 2005. She lived almost her entire life on the farm but in 2003, she moved into Truman Senior Living where she resided until the time of her death. Selma passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Fairmont.
Selma is survived by her son, DuWayne and wife, Vickie of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Jeff (Carol) and Lisa Hagstrom; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer; her parents; and a sister, Louetta.
