Kyle Lynn Ekstrom

Funeral services for Kyle L. Ekstrom, 33, Truman, MN will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Truman. Interment will be held at the church cemetery. Kyle died on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, MN after a four and a half year battle with a brain tumor. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 4-8:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman and one hour before the services in the church. Kyle Lynn Ekstrom was born on April 23, 1982 in Fairmont, MN to Keith and Cindy (Anderson) Ekstrom. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. Kyle attended St. Paul’s Parochial School in Truman, Martin Luther High School and graduated from Fairmont High School in 2001. Kyle enjoyed meeting people as he moved around. He found his passion, working at Mel Carlson Chevrolet detailing cars from 2006-2009. In 2010 he was diagnosed with his brain tumor. Kyle enjoyed camping, disc golfing, bowling, fishing, being at the lake, fireworks, photography and especially traveling. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman and participated with cancer support group at Fairmont Hospital. Kyle is survived by his parents, Keith “Cactus” and Cindy Ekstrom, Truman, MN; three brothers, Brady (Ashley), Fairmont, MN, Levi, Fairmont, MN, Cade, Truman, MN; maternal grandparents, Howard and Marlene Anderson, Truman, MN; paternal grandmother, Grace Ekstrom, Truman, MN; one nephew, Kaylor Ekstrom; numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Kyle was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Adean “Digger” Ekstrom and one aunt, Penny. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the charity of the donor’s choice.
