Funeral services for Arnold K. Kesler, 89, Truman, MN will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:30 am at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman with Pastor Merrill Davis officiating. Interment will take place at Center Chain Cemetery, rural Fairmont, MN. Arnold died on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Home in Jackson, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5-7:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman and one hour prior to the services Friday. Arnold Kenneth Kesler, son of K.B. Kesler and Mable Edwards Kesler was born on March 9, 1926 in Kossuth County, IA. He attended country school near his home for a few years. He moved with his parents to Fairmont where he attended school. He was active in Boy Scouts. In 1940 his parents bought a farm just south of Truman. They moved to Truman and graduated from Truman High School in 1944. Arnie later purchased the farm from his parents where he farmed his entire life. In the early 1950’s, he was honored for being one of the top hog producers in Minnesota by the MN School of Agriculture. Arnie did custom baling, custom HyBoy Spraying and was a DeKalb Seed dealer. On June 1, 1947 Arnie was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lila Baarts. This union was blessed with four daughters, Beverly (Bruce) Taylor, East Bethel, MN, Nancy Jo Garrison (Arlen “Bud” Berhow), Truman, Sherry (Dave) Wright, Kimberly, ID, Shelly (D’Wayne) Mayfield, Slaughter, LA; grandchildren, Corey, Seth, Stacy, Hattie, Cole, Jessica, Hallie; several great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lyle Baarts, WI; sister-in-law, Connie (Lonny) Eads, Mountain Lake, MN; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lea Schmidt, Kate Porter and Thelma Porter.
