Roy “Sig” Clow, age 84, of St. James, formerly of Truman died on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his home in St. James. Funeral service will be held on 10:30am Thursday, September 3, 2015 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. Burial with full military honors will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Truman on Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. He was born on October 13, 1930 in Madelia, MN to Roy and Josephine (Boesch) Clow. He received his education at District #100 Country School, and graduated from Truman High School. Sig enlisted in the US Air Force and served in French Morocco during the Korean War from 1951-1954. On August 6, 1955, Sig was united in marriage to Ramona Selberg at Ledyard, IA. They made their home and farmed at Ledyard for ten years, before returning to his home farm near Truman, where he continued farming. Sig was also employed as a Rural Mail Carrier from 1979-1996. Ramona died on May 18, 2005. On September 1, 2007, Sig was united in marriage to Irene Turner in St. James. Sig was active in both his community and church, serving on several boards, he was a member of Truman American Legion Post #115, and he was a lifetime member of the Truman Gun Club. He enjoyed trapshooting, deer hunting, card playing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Sig is survived by his wife, Irene Turner of St. James; his children, Dawn Waterbury of Fairmont, MN, Ronald (Lisa) Clow of Cannon Falls, MN, Brian (Heidi) Clow of Truman, and daughter-in-law, Sandy Clow of Lewisville, MN; step sons, Mark (Barb) Turner of Elsworth, WI, and Jim (Sheila) Turner of Neosho, MO; 5 grandchildren, Elliott Waterbury, Allison Waterbury, Ben Clow, Josie Clow and Cami Clow; sisters, JoAnne Grani and Elaine (Larry) Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Allene Clow and Norma Wittkopp; brothers-in-law, Jim Payne and Virgil Hammerschmidt; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ramona Clow; son, Cary Clow; step son, Craig Turner, brother, Anton Clow; and sisters, Bonnie Grefe, Odell Payne, Kareen Hammerschmidt and Carole Payne.
