Denise Davis

Denise K. Davis, 59, of Madelia, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Monday, November 16 at Zion Lutheran Church of Lewisville. Visitation will be 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Sunday, November 15 at the Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman. Interment will be at the Antrim Cemetery of Lewisville. Denise was born August 26, 1956 to Dale and Iris (Elden) Davis in Madelia MN. She was baptized on September 30, 1956 at Zion Lutheran in Lewisville. Denise grew up on the farm west of Lewisville. She was the only one in her class confirmed on April 1, 1979 at Zion Lutheran surrounded by the love and support of her congregation. She was active in the Special Olympics, winning numerous gold medals and attended the state and national levels in bowling. Denise enjoyed playing piano, music and attending many of the Zion Lutheran Church functions. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, enjoyed traveling to England with her family, and time on the tractor with her father. She lived in the REM and COR group homes since the early 1980s, and worked for many years at Enterprise in New Ulm and Madelia. Denise is survived by her mother, Iris Davis; sisters, Lynette (Richard) Vagts, Cheryl (Harland) Nelson; 8 nieces and nephews; 7 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale and dear friend, Rick Paulson, Jr.
