Funeral services for Judith Geistfeld, 65, rural Lewisville, MN will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Lewisville with Rev. Matthew Rusert officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Truman. Judy died on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at her home near Lewisville. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5-8:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman and one hour prior to the services in the church. Judith Ann Childs was born on November 4, 1950 in Mankato, MN to Darrell and Lorraine (Leesch) Childs. She attended school and graduated from Garden City High School. Judy worked at Midwest Electric in Mankato. On December 30, 1972, Judy was united in marriage to Ted Geistfeld at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. They moved to Lewisville in 1973. Judy was a homemaker and helped Ted farm. They were blessed with three children. After her children grew up, she worked part-time for Haycraft Construction and enjoyed working at Main Street Floral in Madelia. Judy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Lewisville Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending winters in Florida and summers at Long Lake. Judy took great pride in her children, her home and her yard. She loved going to her kids’ sports events and later to her grandkids’ events. Judy is survived by her husband, Ted of rural Lewisville, MN; three children, Jennifer (Bradley) Bowers of rural Lewisville, Amanda Geistfeld (fiancé, Todd Murawski), Port Austin, MI, Aaron Geistfeld of Plover, WI; 7 grandchildren; mother, Lorraine Childs of Madelia, MN; two sisters, Linda (Tom) Hale, Maplewood, MN, Geri Strong of Cottage Grove, MN; two brothers, Dennis Childs of Mankato, MN, Brian Childs (special friend, Joleen Blekestad) , Madelia, MN; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Darrell; one sister, Lori and infant, Daniel; and her father-in-law, Rev. Emil Geistfeld and mother-in-law, Viola; step-mother, Carmen.
