Allene Mae Jones was born on December 28, 1932 in Judson Township, Blue Earth County to Alvin Alfred Jones and Loris Glee (Butler) Jones. She was the 2nd of 12 children. She attended school in Truman. On September 17, 1950 she married Anton “Tony” Clow at The Community Baptist Church in Truman. To this union 4 children were born. Allene was a stay at home mother and kept herself busy with the kids and their school, church and scout activities. She later worked at Truman Drug for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Lutheran Retirement home auxiliary. Allene was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Truman, attending Ladies Aid functions and as a representative on the LWML for many years. She was on the board of Directors for the Truman Historical Society and enjoyed getting together at the community events held in town.
Allene’s potato salad and chocolate cake will never be forgotten. Her giving personality and her care and concern for others will be emulated by many. She always had coffee on for coffee time, sweets and snacks were never in short supply and you never went away hungry.
