Cordelia Emily Pahl

Cordelia Pahl, of Truman, formerly of Amboy, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Heartland Senior Living in Truman at the age of 104 years old. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11 AM at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amboy with Rev. Rudolph Maurer Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John’s Lutheran - Willow Creek North Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines, social distancing will be enforced, and masks are required. Cordelia Emily Malchow was born on March 20, 1917, in Lakefield, Minnesota. She was one of 4 children born to Rudolph and Lydia (Urban) Malchow. She grew up on a farm in Lakefield. In 1942, she married Wilmer Pahl and moved to the farm in Willow Creek. There, they raised two daughters and moved to Amboy after retirement.  

Cordelia was involved in church, enjoyed quilting, baking anise cookies every Christmas, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed painting and could recreate most landscapes.  

Cordelia is survived by her daughters, Janet Boeck of Amboy and Corrine (Darold) Renkly of Volga SD; 7 grandchildren, Caroll (Bruce) Ferdig, Emilee (Brian Brenner) Fullenkamp, Daniel (Nicole) Renkly, Leslie (Rich) Firkins, Joe Stabenow, Kyle Boeck, and Bethany (Matt) Venegoni; 14 great-grandchildren, Jason (Hope Carlson) Bryant, Lydia (Jason) Fuhr, Trever, Deven and Ava Brenner, Ava Fullenkamp, Andrea, Andelynn and Morgan Renkly, Logan Paczkowski, Luke Firkins, Mac and Amber Stabenow and Louis Venegoni; and one great great-grandson Benson Bryant; sister-in-law, Betty Malchow; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wilmer Pahl; brothers, Gerhardt Malchow and Erhardt (Jackie) Malchow; sister, Leola Winters; grandson, Glen Renkly; and son-in-law Rodney Boeck.
