Harold Dean Miller was born May 6, 1934 to Walter and Elsie (Gasman) Miller on the family farm where he went to his heavenly home on June 14, 2023 at the age of 89. He graduated from Truman in 1952. Harold met Velma Baade while roller skating; they were married on February 11, 1956. His legacy was to his Lord and Savior, family and country. Harold passed his work ethic to his family where everyone worked on the farm. He also worked at JC Penny for 27 years retiring to farm full time. Harold retired from farming at the age of 85. He never ventured more than 5 miles from his family farm. His love of family was evident by the large family gatherings at the Farm. Harold enjoyed going on vintage tractor rides on his restored tractors. He served in the Army for 2 years with many of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren also serving.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Velma; children, Joyce Deeds, David (Belinda) Miller, Kenneth (Julie) Miller, Susanne (Tim) McKay, Ross Miller, and William Miller; grandchildren, Gina, Andrew, Craig, Bridget, Joseph, Brandon, James, Steven, Micheal, and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Alaric, McKaleigh, Greyson, Adeline, Zane, Zoey, Emma, Kodi, Willa, Andi, Knox, Miles, Norah, Chase, Darwin, Ezra, Cameron, Kadyn, Ely, Dakota, Wyatt, Joshua, Savannah, Awndre, Izaiah, Marshall, Zachary, Logan, Ciara, Natalie, Austin, Mackena, and Casen; great-great-grandchild, King; and his siblings, Marvin (Joanne) Miller, Evelyn (Charles) Voss, Irene (Orville) Deling, Randy (Pamela) Miller, and Omar (Jane) Baade.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Laurel Kay Miller, and grandson Roger Deeds.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 19 at 11am at Truman Church of Christ with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery. A time for food and fellowship will be held at the family farm following burial.
