Larry W Brummond

Larry Wayne Brummond was born on May 22, 1939 in Truman, Minnesota, to Gerhardt & Lydia Brummond. He was baptized & confirmed at St John’s Lutheran Church Antrim, attended Lutheran school at Antrim Lutheran School. He later purchased the school and turned it into his work shop.

On September 30, 1962 he was united in marriage to Elaine Zinke at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Antrim, where they were lifetime members. The couple lived on a farm in rural Lewisville, and later moved to the home farm, where they live now.

Larry enjoyed carpentry, making all sorts of different things for lots of people. He was proud of his sobriety and was a member of Truman AA for over forty years. Larry had lots of pride in making wooden barns and cupboards for his grandkids and great grandkids. He enjoyed playing cards, and making popcorn right out of his van. He was a big fan at his grandkids sporting events, and his trips to Perkins, spending time with his friends & family, including his dog Bear, were very important to Larry.

Larry was involved in many things, chairman of Antrim town board, chairman of Antrim Church, and head of the cemetery board. Larry died April 10, 2024 at the Faribault Medical Center.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Elaine; son, Laris Brummond; daughter, Yolonda (Troy) Geistfeld; son, Tony (Gini) Brummond; six grandchildren, Haley (Garrett) Schock, Sam (Ciera) Geistfeld, Hanna & Harley Geistfeld, Zach (Kayla) Brummond, Alexis Brummond; four great-grandchildren, Hattie and Higgins Schock, Granger and Maeve Geistfeld; brother and sister in-law, Gilbert and Edith Zinke; aunt, Mary Breitbarth; and numerous cousins.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Gerhardt and Lydia Brummond; Sisters, Jenny Odell and Audrey Glee; Son, Gerald Brummond; mother and father in-law, Siebert and Olivia Zinke.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Antrim. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at Zaharia Family Funeral Home from 5-7PM. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Antrim.
