Lois Camelin

Lois Elaine Camelin, age 96 of Truman passed away Saturday June 1, 2024 at Heartland Senior Living-Truman. A celebration of her life will be held at 1pm Saturday June 22, 2024 at Zaharia Funeral Home. Rev. Merrill Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont. Lois was born in Fairmont November 21, 1927 to Ed and Hanna (Ficken) Bents. She was one of 4 children.

She married Robert (Bob) Camelin and together they had 2 sons, Michael and Timothy. She worked several years at JC Penny before transitioning to the lunchroom at the Truman school where she cooked for the whole school. Lois also opened her own business in her basement in Truman called The Craft Cellar.  She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Truman.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Anita) of Truman and their children, Timothy (Misti) of Summerfield, NC and their children, as well as other extended family and friends, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, brother Lyle, sisters Janet (Red), and Ivy, and grandsons Ryan and Hayden and daughter-in-law Gail.
