Lorentz Gens

Lorentz F. Gens, resident of Luther Memorial Home, Madelia and former Truman resident, died on Monday, September 24^th in Madelia, MN at the age of 94.

Services for Lorentz will be on Thursday, September 27^th, 2018 at 11:00am at Zaharia Family Funeral Home at Truman, MN. With Rev. John Bennett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Lewisville, MN. Lorentz was born on June 12, 1924 to Edward and Ella (Keehn) Gens on the family farm in Ceresco Township, Blue Earth County, MN. He attended school in Ceresco Township. Lorentz married Norva Zempel on July 16, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fieldon MN. They lived and farmed on the Gens family farm until they retired and moved to Truman in 1996. Lorentz enjoyed fishing and hunting.  Norva passed away on Feb. 20, 1997. Lorentz continued to live in Truman until 2014, when he entered the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.

Lorentz is survived by brother, Donald (Marjorie) Gens; nephews, Rodney (Brenda) Gens and Ronald (Jill) Kietzer; nieces, Barbara (James) Vantine and Lorraine Niemeier and many great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norva, sisters, Delta Kietzer and Esther Boeck.
