Marian Krumwiede, age 100 of Truman, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Mankato Lodge Assisted Living.
Marian Elizabeth Hairsine was born in Cresbard, SD on February 16, 1921 to Thomas Glen and Ethel C. (Seeholm) Hairsine. She moved with her family to rural Kasson, Minnesota. Marian graduated from Kasson High School in 1939. She then went to Milwaukee, WI, where she attended Beauty School.
On November 3, 1944, Marian was united in marriage to Walter L. Krumwiede. They lived in Triumph, where Walter was in the banking business. The couple moved to Truman in 1956, where they raised their three children. After Walter retired from banking in 1986, the couple spent their winters in Mesa, AZ for 18 years. Walter passed away on May 29, 2013.
Marian continued to live in Truman until September 2021, when she moved to Mankato Lodge Assisted Living.
Marian is survived by her sons, Warren (Joyce) Krumwiede of Mankato, Daryl (Jeanne) Krumwiede of Elgin, IL; daughter, Karma Krumwiede of Rochester; sister, Roberta Kilpatrick; sisters-in-law, Addie Hairsine, Gaylene (Dick) Grabinger, Eloda “Pat” Krumwiede, Helen Krumwiede; brothers-in-law, Ken (Jane) Krumwiede, and Mert Hovick; five grandchildren, Scott (Lana) Krumwiede, Dan (Maddy) Krumwiede, Dawn (Nate) McGowan, Anne (Matt) Hellmuth, and Todd (Nicole) Krumwiede; 12 great-grandchildren, Alice and Reagan Krumwiede, Ethan and Aubrey Krumwiede, Zachary, Evan, and Hannah McGowan, Gavin, Kinsey, and Madelyn Hellmuth, and James and Samuel Krumwiede; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; infant son, Ronald; sisters, Sarah Parkin and Glenna Peterson; brother, Carl Hairsine; brothers-in-law, Ralph Parkin, Richard Peterson, William Kilpatrick, Leland Krumwiede, Gerald Krumwiede; and sister-in-law, Shirley Hovick.
Memorial services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman with Rev. Timothy Chase officiating. A time for visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, February 7 at Zaharia Funeral Home in Truman and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at a later date in Elm Creek Cemetery in rural Sherburn.
