Rodney was born in Madelia, on July 9, 1954 to Verna (Wels) and Gerhard Boeck. He attended Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca graduating in 1972. He then returned home to farm. He later married Janet Pahl on April 7, 1984 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Willow Creek. He took great pride in his responsibility of raising his 4 children. He was a dairy farmer and raised corn and soybeans. Since he was 12 years of age, until his passing, he lived on his family’s Century farm.
Rodney enjoyed his children and grandchildren so much. He also enjoyed his cow herd and kept very busy with them. He liked to hunt, watch his crops grow and would often be seen driving slow just to check out those crops. Rodney and Janet made a faithful trip to Canada fishing every year for the last 20 years. Rodney loved to laugh, had tremendous patience, and was a very humble farmer who enjoyed life.
Rodney is survived by his wife and best friend of 35 years, Janet (Pahl) Boeck of Amboy; children, Leslie (Rich) Firkins of Oakdale, Joe Stabenow of New Ulm, Kyle Boeck of Rochester, and Bethany (Matthew) Venegoni of St. Paul; grandchildren, Logan Paczkowski, Luke Firkins, Makayla Stabenow, Amber Stabenow and Louis Venegoni; sister, Mavis (Dick) Royer of Winnebago; mother-in-law, Cordelia Pahl of Truman; sister-in-law, Corrine (Darold) Renkly of Volga, SD; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded by his parents, and father-in-law Wilmer Pahl.
