Ronald Raymond Hardman

           Ron Hardman passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Heartland Senior Living in Truman at the age of 68. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman. Interment will be at Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at a later date.           Ronald Raymond Hardman was born January 25, 1953 in Oelwein, Iowa to parents LeRoy J. and Beatrice Margaret (Gray) Hardman. He was one of 16 children.  He loved to listen to music, especially jazz like Roy Buchanan and Bad Company. Fishing and just being outside were great ways to pass the days.  Ron was a wonderful chess player and had a favorite set that was glass.  If you ever got the chance to spend time with Ron, you would remember, that he likes people, just not too many at a time. Rabbits and other creatures as long as they didn’t “meow” were his friends, and he had many. 

          Ron is survived by his sisters, Sally Wallander, Becky Williams, Robin Heising, Mary Davis and Sharon Byrne; brother, Harry Hardman; children, Katie Hardman, Ray Hardman and Tammy Zeien; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

         He is preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. He will be missed by many.
