Scott Stough

December 19, 1960 — July 14, 2022

Scott Walter Stough of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota formerly of Truman, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, after a brief illness at the age of 61 years.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, rural Truman at 3:00 p.m. followed by a time to celebrate his life at Zaharia Family Funeral home from 4 - 6 pm in Truman, Minnesota.

Scott was born on December 19, 1960 in Trimont, Minnesota as a “preemie” to Art and Norma Stough.  He didn’t stay small for long, growing to over 6’3” in height.  He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman, Minnesota in 1975 and graduated from Truman High School with the Class of 1979.  Scott was a 3-sport high school athlete, excelling in Football, Basketball and Track.  He was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor but was also a man of few words.  His first job was delivering newspapers, with his earnings he bought an orange Schwinn Stingray bicycle which was his most prized possession and is still in mint condition.  Scott received his welding degree from Mankato Area Vocational School in 1980. He worked for Tafco in Blue Earth in the early 80s and after a move to the cities, began working for The Milwaukee Road and Soo Line Railroad, Tri Modal, most recently known as Remprex in Minneapolis, MN repairing railroad intermodal equipment.

Scott married Victoria Bacon on September 18, 1998, welcoming 2 stepdaughters, Chandelle and Sheyenne.  They were blessed with a son Vincent Scott in March of 2000.

Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, keeping his car spiffy, watching the MN Twins and Seattle Seahawks.  Family was important to him, always reminiscing about shenanigans throughout his younger years and high school years with his friends.  He so enjoyed the family trips to Evergreen Lodge up north when the kids were younger.  He was known for his impersonations of anyone and everyone he ever met, always entertaining everyone.  Laughter came easy when Scott was around.

Scott will never be forgotten by his son, Vincent Stough (Erin O’Donnell) of Brooklyn Park; stepdaughters, Chandelle Hansen (Andrew Luostari), granddaughter Layla, all of Hibbing, MN; Sheyenne Hansen of Maple Grove, MN;  Father, Art Stough of Fairmont, MN; Brother, Tom (Barb) Stough of Redwood Falls; Sister, LeAnn (Jeff) Maloney of Lewisville, MN, all his nephews, Brady (Abbie) Stough, Beau (Victoria) Stough, Blaise Stough, Jordan (Kasey Moon) Maloney, Austin Maloney, Jackson (Rachel Shumski) Maloney, and Mason Maloney, as well as many other friends and relatives.

Scott was preceded in death by his wife Victoria, mother Norma Stough, maternal and fraternal grandparents, other friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.

“It’s not Good Bye, it’s See You Later”.
