Sylvia (Sulflow) Urban, age 96 of Lewisville, died on Saturday November 18, 2017. She was born April 21, 1921 to Gustav and Emma (Kietzer) Sulflow at her home in rural Pleasant Mound Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Willow Creek and attended St. John's parochial school. Sylvia was united in marriage to Gerhardt Urban on February 16, 1937. The couple enjoyed 62 years of marriage and lived on the family farm in Antrim Township. They also enjoyed traveling the United States. Sylvia was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville. She was in the Ladies Aid, was a Sunday school teacher, participated in the bible study and helped make quilts for World Relief. Her other activities included cooking and baking, growing flowers, music, handiwork, quilting and playing cards. She made quilts for all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She was a member of the Lewisville Kitchen Band for over 50 years. The band would play at the Retirement home in Truman and at area celebrations. She is survived by her children, Gerald (Sandy) Urban of Madelia, Jennifer Krohn (Roxanne Wolfe) of Minneapolis and Brian Urban (Lynn Gessner) of Truman; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerhardt; daughter, Carol Grev; sisters, Florence (Kenneth) Anderson, Doris (Edward) Else, Lillian (Ken) Maus and infant sister Loretta; brothers, Clarence, Lorenz (Deloris), Friebert (Pat) and Wilton and an infant granddaughter Noele. Visitation will be from 9-11am Saturday November 25, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Truman where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Burial will be at a later date.
