Dorothy Ann Carol Graham

Dorothy Ann Carol Graham (Johnson), age 82 of Truman, MN, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 after a long and valiant battle against cancer.  Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, June 11, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman (102 N 7^th Ave E.) with Rev. Krista Strum officiating. Burial will follow at the Waverly Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Trimont, MN. Dorothy “Dot” Graham was born April 15, 1936 on a farm in Waverly Township, Martin County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Oranda (Peterson) Johnson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Waverly Lutheran Church.  Dot attended country school district #122 and later Truman High School where she graduated in 1954.

Dot married Edward “Eddie” Graham on February 15, 1958 in Waverly Lutheran Church, rural Trimont, MN.  Dot and Eddie farmed together in the Truman area and raised three children, Velda, Steven, and Brett.  They also actively participated in the lives of their two grandchildren, Nick and Jennifer Graham.

Dot was a loving person who welcomed any and all into her family and her heart.  She was always willing to add another place at the table and loved to celebrate with others.  She enjoyed being with friends and family, be it a big dinner party, a game of cards, or a trip to the casino.  Dot was a homemaker who loved to make her home beautiful and inviting, and always decorated for each season.  In later years, she derived particular joy from decorating with the able assistance of her granddaughter Jennifer. Dot was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Ladies’ Aid.  Above all, Dot loved to have fun and do things with friends and family.  We will miss her greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Velda (Geoffrey) Bell of Duluth, MN, son, Steven (Vanessa) Graham of Truman, MN, sister Mavis Johnson of Truman, MN, grandson Nick Graham of Rolfe, IA, granddaughter Jennifer Graham of Ringsted, IA, and nephews and nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents, husband Eddie, son Brett Graham, twin infant daughters, brother Leland Johnson, and sister-in-law Carole Hendrix.
