Keith Barickman, age 82 of Truman, passed away on January 1, 2022. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman. A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be at Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont at 11 AM on Thursday with Pastor Jerry Evelsizer officiating. Keith Leonard Barickman was born March 3, 1939 in Antrim Township, Watonwan County, Minnesota the youngest of 4 children to parents Lloyd and Beulah (Leonard) Barickman. He was raised on the family farm. He graduated from Truman High School with the class of 1956. After graduation he joined the Army National Guard. Keith married Cheryl Ann Howell on March 2, 1963 at the Community Baptist Church in Truman. Together they farmed and raised their two children. Keith was active in the Community Baptist Church as an usher and board member. After the church’s closing, He and Cheryl attended at the First Presbyterian Church in Amboy, currently they are members at Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont. He made many lifelong friends at church and showed his faith by serving others. He was a School bus driver for 50 years for the Truman Public School. He was a lifelong farmer.
There are many things that Keith offered by way of advice, “Always have options”, “Save time, just do it right from the start” and always encouraging “Straight lines and tight corners”. He’s certainly not wrong and these will be carried on by many of his family and friends.
Keith is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cheryl Barickman of Truman; son, Daniel (Julie) Barickman of Garner, IA; daughter, Heidi (Scott) Voyles of Granada; grandchildren. Allison (Peter) Owens, Alexander (Anna) Voyles, Tucker Barickman, Alissa Voyles and Matthew Barickman; great-grandchildren, Payton, Thomas, James, Emery, AlmaLeigh, Arnie, Arlo, Adalyne and “baby” Voyles; brother-in-law, Richard Westloff; sister-in-law, Karen (Bernie) Kubes; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Keith is preceded in death by his brother, Earl Dean (Gladys) Barickman and two sisters, Alma Leigh (Marlo) Johnson and Lawana Westloff.
