Ruthanne Kohlmeyer, of Truman, started her new journey peacefully on June 12, 2020 at Heartland Senior Living in Truman at the age of 77. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Nashville Cemetery in rural Truman, with Rev. Tim A. chase officiating. Ruthanne was born on May 15, 1943 in Blue Earth to Kenneth and Ruth (Lewis) Kohlmeyer. She was baptized January 30, 1944 and confirmed June 9, 1957 at Salem Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. She worked for the telephone office in Blue Earth beginning at 16 years of age. She graduated from Blue Earth high school in 1961, where she was involved in many activities especially 4-H. Soon after she moved to Minneapolis and was employed for Dun & Bradstreet consulting firm where she was an avid softball player, coach and umpire as well as an avid bowler. She retired at age 65 after nearly 30 years of employment.
After her retirement, she moved to Truman. It was here, at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church that she reaffirmed her faith on June 16, 1996; becoming a member. She was active in the handbell choir as well as the vocal choir. Ruthanne loved playing cards, playing board games and doing puzzles. She also filled her days being the daycare provider for her god-daughter, Courtney. Ruthanne had a heart for the many animals that were in her life; cats, dogs and birds alike.
Ruthanne is survived by her brother, Norman (Lillian) Kohlmeyer of Blue Earth; sister, Lois Kohlmeyer of Mesa, Arizona; friends who are considered family, Merle and Elna Craig, Mona Weihe, Barb Kubly, Courtney Parrish (who is also the spoiled god-child), Chris Geistfeld, Becky Oerman, Sherry Breitbarth, and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Martin County Humane Society or the Truman Highway 15 Flag Fund, c/o Profinium Bank in Truman.
